TIMELY FOOD ASSISTANCE FOR ORANG ASLI FOLK IN LENGGONG

The Orang Asli folk in Lenggong, Perak received timely aid from Perak Menteri Besar Incorporated (MB Inc) recently.

Among those who received aid in the form of food items were those in Sungai Karah (18), Takong (9), Air Bah 1 (41) and Air Bah 2 (25).

These small kamungs are located in the deep interior away from towns.

The initiative was supported by staff from the Orang Asli Department from Perak and Kedah.

The Orang Asli folk have been badly impacted by the Covid-19 pandemic.

On hand to present the food stuff was MB Inc chief executive officer, Anuar Zainal Abidin and his team.

“MB Inc hopes to play its part in helping the needy community during trying times. We hope that the assistance will make a difference in their lives,” said Anuar.

He also added that MB Inc has also delivered food aid to other underprivileged communities and Orang Asli folk in other areas in Perak.

“We sincerely hope that this assistance will make a positive change in their livelihood. So far, some 10,000 families have received our assistance,” adds Anuar.

In the meantime, Perak Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Ahmad Faizal Azumu also reminded government linked companies (GLC) to be always mindful of the needy and underprivileged communi to be safe guarded during these trying times irrespective of race, political beliefs or religion.

Subsequently, some 407 families in Taman Pinji Mewah who have been placed in the Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO) received sanitizers and face masks and food aid.

They gathered at the Sekolah Kebangsaan Pengkalan to receive the assistance from MB Inc.

Present at the presentation ceremony was the Head of Corporate Communications MB Inc Siti Kamesah Bee M Hashim who handed over the Batu Gajah Welfare Department assistant officer, Razimah Ramli and Inspector Nurul Shafinaz Haji Saud respectively.
