Selangor Delegation Visits Tanjung Tualang Dredge TT5

BATU GAJAH: The sole heritage treasure, Tanjung Tualang Dredge No. 5 (TT5), welcomed a visit from the Selangor state government delegation.

The Selangor State Executive Councillor for Housing & Sustainable Urban Development, Culture, Malay Customs & Heritage, Datuk Borhan Aman Shah, conducted a working visit to TT5.

Organized by the Selangor Malay Customs and Heritage Corporation (PADAT), the visit aimed to inform the delegation about the efforts of Menteri Besar Incorporated (Perak) in preserving and conserving the historical heritage of Dredge TT5.

Accompanying the delegation were the Chief Executive Officer of PADAT, Rozzana Rahmat; representatives from MB Inc. Perak, Shaharin Zainon; and officials from the Sepang Municipal Council and the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture Malaysia, Selangor State Office.

Dredge TT5 is now a primary reference in efforts to conserve Dredge Sri Banting, which is set to be developed as a tourism center.

Additionally, this visit serves as a platform to formulate a strategic plan for gaining UNESCO recognition for both of these remaining dredges.

MB Inc. Perak is confident that with the cooperation of all parties, the heritage of dredging can be elevated once again.

It stands as a symbol of the glory of the tin mining industry in Malaysia, while also becoming a valuable reference for future generations.
