Tanjung Tualang Tin Dredge No. 5 (TT5), the iconic tin mining monument preserved by MB Inc. via its subsidiary, Amanjaya TT5 Sdn. Bhd. participated in the World’s Leading Travel Trade Show, Internationale Tourismus-Borse (ITB) Berlin on March 9.
The three-day event was held at Berlin ExpoCentre City with the participation of 125 countries from around the world.
The Malaysia delegation was led by the Hon. Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture of Malaysia, Dato’ Sri Tiong King Sing who was accompanied by the Director General of Tourism Malaysia, Dato’ Zainuddin Abd Wahab; Ex-Secretary General of MOTAC, Datuk Rashidi Hasbullah; President of the Malaysian Association of Tour and Travel Agents (MATTA), Datuk Tan Kok Liang; and Perak State Executive Council of Tourism, Industries, Investment and Corridor Development, YB Loh Sze Yee.
The event was marked to be one of the best platforms for Malaysian tourism players to meet up with German and European outbound agents and airlines, as well as an opportunity to share the latest information on Malaysia’s tourism products and new tourism attractions in our effort to further revive the tourism industry in Malaysia and specifically in Perak.
A total of 68 participants representing 40 organizations joined under the Tourism Malaysia Pavillion.
Throughout the event, Mr. Aizad and Mr. Izzuddin of Amanjaya TT5 Sdn. Bhd. were given the opportunity to present TT5 and how MB Inc. has managed to transform an ex-mining site into a wonderland, which serves to underscore the significance of TT5 to the state of Perak. MB Inc. is preserving an important part of the local culture while also providing visitors with an unforgettable experience by highlighting the rich history of tin mining.
In line with the theme of the event on sustainability, MB Inc. representatives had taken the opportunity to promote its latest eco-tourism attraction called the TT5 Maze Park. In that regard, MB Inc. has been involved in sustainable-based development in its various endeavours across the board.
During the event, our representatives was greatly honoured to have been given the opportunity to meet up with the National Geographic Commercial Director, Mr. Matthew Midwworth who has expressed his interest in publishing stories about TT5 in his future visit to the site.
MB Inc. hopes this event will attract international tourists to highly consider Perak in their next vacation itinerary and TT5 specifically to have a closer look at the engineering marvel which was built in the glorious era of tin mining. Apart from its rich history, we also hope that our effort to rejuvenate the historical site with our unique eco-tourism development will bode well with the future visitors to TT5.
